Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19th, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. Her leading role on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. Sedgwick was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010 and she also won a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. After the conclusion of the seventh season, the show was canceled on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick got a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) as well as The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an therapist for speech and family and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV, a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian origins. Sedgwick has publicly declared her Jewish roots and stated that she is a part of Passover seders.
